China Millennium Monument and World Art Museum

The China Millennium Monument is a landmark building in Beijing. The unique shape of the Sundial Square is spectacular and a popular photo op. Inside you will find the World Art Gallery, which often hosts art exhibitions from all over the world.

Visiting the China Millennium Monument is relatively simple. It is divided into two parts, outdoor and indoor. First, visit the outdoor square, the sun-drenched building and the embossed wall, and then go to the indoor exhibition, which takes about one to two hours.

Outdoor building

The outdoor buildings are mainly composed of the Chinese Holy Fire Square, the 300-meter bronze ramp and the main building of the Century Hall on the south side of Fuxing Road.

The Chinese Holy Fire Square is a concave circular shape with a diameter of about 30 meters. At the south gate of the square is the Chinese Century Monument stone. The stone is a white marble with a length of 9 meters and a height of 1 meter. The preface of the white marble after the white marble records the history of the Chinese nation for thousands of years. Have a good look. There is a water flow on each side of the square steps, which symbolizes the motherland’s mother river, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. At the center of the square is a cluster of flames that are immortal. The fire is taken from the ruins of Zhoukoudian, symbolizing the immortality of Chinese civilization.

The ramp is located on the north side of the square, connecting the square and the main building of the century. This more than three hundred meters bronze corridor above records more than three million years ago, humans appear to have been carved by the year 2000 history and culture of the Chinese nation, four great inventions of China event in history can be seen here.

After walking through the ramp, it came to the steps of the main building of the Century. The Millennium Monument is a huge sundial shape and one of Beijing’s landmarks. Many tourists will take photos here. Along the order, you can see the representative sculptures of the 56 Chinese nation and the sculptures of Chinese historical celebrities. They are very representative and can be visited.

 

Indoor exhibition

From the middle of the upper part of the step, you can enter the interior of the Millennium Monument. There are three layers inside the Millennium Monument, which are the basement, the first floor and the second floor. The digital art gallery, the special exhibition hall and the basic exhibition hall are distributed from the bottom to the top.

Each year, the Millennium Monument introduces a number of exhibitions. The content and duration of the exhibition vary from one country to another, mainly based on the art of the world and the exhibition of ancient Chinese history. Most of the exhibitions are free, and there are also some special fee exhibitions at certain times. You can go to the official website to find out more in advance, and then come to visit the exhibitions you are interested in. Entry is 30 RMB.

In addition, there is a coffee shop on the ground floor and a souvenir shop on the second floor. However, the price is slightly more expensive and it is not recommended to spend here.
