Xiaotangshan Hot Springs
Xiaotangshan is located in Changping District, Beijing, and is known as the “hot spring town”. Because of its rich geothermal resources, there are hot springs in the mountains, and the ancients called hot water “soup”, hence the name Xiaotangshan. Xiaotangshan can be traced back to the Liao Dynasty at the earliest. In the Ming Dynasty, it was turned into a royal forbidden court. In the fifty-fourth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1715), the Tangquan Palace was built here, and a lotus pond was built next to the spring for the emperor and the expensive bath. Not far from Xiaotangshan is Xingshou Town, where Shangyuan Village gathers a large number of painters; three kilometers to the west is the Aviation Museum, where it is easy to see aircraft of various eras.
Hot springs can be visited all year round with the most famous ones being Jiuhua Mountain Villa and Longmai Hot Spring.
